Job Title:Statutory Compliance Manager / Officer

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Statutory Compliance Manager to oversee, manage, and ensure that the organization is compliant with all local, state, and national labor laws and regulations. This role requires a professional who can handle all aspects of statutory compliance, including payroll compliance, vendor coordination, documentation, and audit handling, to ensure the smooth operation of the HR department in line with legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Compliance Management:
- Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory requirements related to employee welfare, including Provident Fund (PF), Employees State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity, Minimum Wages, and Labor Laws.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns and reports, including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and Income Tax.
- Track and implement changes in labor laws and regulations, updating policies as necessary.
- Compliance Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain statutory compliance documents for audit purposes, ensuring that they are up-to-date and readily available.
- Maintain employee-related records and documents related to statutory benefits, including leave, attendance, and working hours.
- Prepare reports on compliance status for management and regulatory bodies.
- Payroll Compliance:
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including tax deductions, Provident Fund (PF), ESI, and other employee benefits.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and ensure that necessary deductions are in line with legal requirements.
- Audit Handling:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to HR compliance.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is available and in compliance during audits, addressing any issues or discrepancies raised.
- Conduct internal audits to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., payroll providers, statutory compliance service providers) to ensure timely and accurate processing of statutory payments.
- Ensure vendors adhere to legal compliance standards and resolve any issues with vendor performance.
- Manage and review vendor contracts to ensure terms and conditions align with statutory compliance requirements.
- Legal Advisory and Support:
- Advise management and HR on the legal implications of employment policies and practices.
- Provide guidance on labor laws, statutory compliance matters, and related legal issues.
- Liaise with legal advisors to stay updated on labor law changes and advise accordingly.
- Training and Awareness:
- Conduct training for HR staff and management on statutory compliance, regulations, and best practices.
- Create awareness about new legal and regulatory changes within the organization.

- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in HR, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in statutory compliance, payroll compliance, or HR operations, preferably within a large organization.
- Knowledge of Compliance Regulations: In-depth understanding of labor laws, statutory compliance, and related regulations (PF, ESI, Minimum Wage, Gratuity, etc.).
- Audit Handling Skills: Experience with internal and external audits, and an understanding of audit principles and regulatory requirements.
- Payroll and Taxation Knowledge: Proficient in payroll processing and statutory deductions (income tax, ESI, PF, etc.).
- Vendor Management: Experience in managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with contracts and legal standards.
- Documentation Skills: Strong skills in maintaining compliance documentation and generating accurate reports.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure compliance across various functions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with management, auditors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Legal Acumen: Understanding of employment laws and regulations applicable to the region.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Labor Laws or Compliance.
- Familiarity with HRMS (Human Resource Management Systems) and Payroll Software.
- Experience with multinational organizations and global compliance standar
